The Trijicon ACOG TA55 combines fixed 5.5x magnification with a 50 mm objective and a red .223/5.56 chevron reticle. Its larger optical format provides more magnification than the 3.5×35 TA11, with a correspondingly narrower 18.4-foot field of view at 100 yards.

The red chevron and ballistic reference scale are calibrated for .223/5.56. This distinguishes the TA55 from the otherwise similar TA55A, which uses a .308/7.62 reticle. A TA51 thumbscrew mount is included, and the 12-inch forged-aluminum housing has a matte-black finish.

Fiber optics collect daylight to illuminate the reticle, while tritium provides low-light illumination without batteries. The scope has 2.2 inches of eye relief and weighs 25.6 ounces. Multicoated lenses and nitrogen filling support image clarity and resistance to internal fogging in this larger fixed-power ACOG.
