At Deerford Defense, we want customers to contact us promptly if there is an issue with an order. Because many products sold through this website are regulated, specialized, or fulfillment-sensitive, all returns and refunds are subject to the policy below.
By placing an order on this website, you agree to this Returns and Refund Policy.
1. Return Authorization Required
Customers must contact us by email before returning any item. Returns sent without prior authorization may be refused or delayed.
To request a return, please email [email protected] with your:
- Full name
- Order number
- Item(s) you wish to return
- Reason for the return
If your return is approved, we will provide return instructions, return shipping information, and, where applicable, a return label. Do not send any item back until you have received return instructions from us.
2. Return Window
Return requests must be submitted within 7 days of delivery unless otherwise stated for a specific product category.
Returned items must be shipped back promptly after approval and in accordance with the instructions we provide.
3. Restocking Fee
Approved returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee. This fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
Original shipping charges, return shipping costs, label costs, payment processing costs, and any non-refundable fees may also be deducted from the refund where permitted by law.
4. Condition of Returned Items
To be eligible for a return, items must generally be:
- Unused
- Unworn
- Uninstalled
- In original packaging
- In the same condition as received
- Returned with all included parts, accessories, manuals, and documentation
We reserve the right to deny or reduce a refund for items that show signs of use, damage, modification, missing components, or packaging damage beyond what is necessary for inspection.
5. Non-Returnable Items
For safety, legal, and compliance reasons, certain items may not be returned. Unless required by law, the following are generally non-returnable:
- Firearms after transfer to the receiving FFL or customer
- Ammunition
- NFA items
- Used items
- Special-order items
- Clearance or final sale items
- Products altered, installed, or damaged after delivery
- Any item prohibited from return by law, manufacturer policy, or distributor policy
If a firearm is delivered to a receiving FFL and the transfer cannot be completed for reasons not caused by us, any return or refund will be subject to approval and may include actual shipping costs, return shipping costs, distributor charges, transfer-related charges, and the 10% restocking fee.
6. Firearms and FFL-Related Orders
All firearm sales must comply with federal, state, and local law. Firearms must be shipped to a valid Federal Firearms Licensee where required by law.
Customers are responsible for:
- Confirming the firearm is legal in their jurisdiction
- Selecting a valid receiving FFL
- Ensuring the receiving FFL is willing and able to complete the transfer
- Paying any transfer, storage, or background check fees charged by the receiving FFL
If a firearm transfer is delayed, denied, refused, abandoned, or cannot be completed for any reason not caused by us, any refund issued will be subject to the 10% restocking fee and deduction of all applicable shipping, return shipping, and third-party costs.
7. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
If you receive an item that is damaged, defective, or incorrect, you must contact us by email within 7 days of delivery.
Please include:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photos of the item, packaging, and any visible damage
We will review the issue and determine the appropriate resolution, which may include return approval, replacement, store credit, manufacturer warranty referral, or refund.
We reserve the right to require photo documentation before approving any claim.
8. Manufacturer Warranties
Some products may be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty. In some cases, the fastest and most appropriate resolution may be through the manufacturer directly.
We reserve the right to direct customers to the manufacturer for warranty claims when appropriate.
9. Return Shipping
Customers must email us before returning an item so that we can provide the correct return shipping address and return instructions.
If a return is approved, we may provide a return label at our discretion. The cost of the return label may be deducted from the refund unless the return is due to our error, such as shipment of the wrong item.
Customers should not return items to the manufacturer, distributor, or any address other than the one we provide unless we specifically instruct them to do so.
10. Refund Processing
Once a returned item is received and inspected, we will notify you whether the refund has been approved.
If approved, refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method, less:
- The 10% restocking fee
- Original shipping charges
- Return label or return shipping costs, if applicable
- Any non-refundable fees or costs incurred in processing the order
Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider or financial institution.
11. Order Cancellations
Orders may be canceled only if processing has not already begun. Once an order has been processed, packed, transmitted to a distributor, shipped, or transferred for fulfillment, cancellation may not be possible.
Approved cancellations may still be subject to payment processing fees, distributor charges, or other non-recoverable costs where permitted by law.
12. Refused Shipments and Undeliverable Packages
If a package is refused, returned as undeliverable, or cannot be delivered because of incorrect address information provided by the customer, any refund may be reduced by:
- Actual shipping charges
- Return shipping charges
- Carrier fees
- The 10% restocking fee
- Any other costs incurred by us
13. Chargebacks and Disputes
Customers agree to contact us first to attempt to resolve any issue before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute.
Improper chargebacks relating to valid transactions, lawful policies, or disclosed fees may be disputed using order records, shipping records, correspondence, and acceptance of these policies.
14. Policy Changes
We reserve the right to modify this Returns and Refund Policy at any time without prior notice. Any changes become effective upon posting to this page.
