Refund and Returns Policy

This Refund, Returns, and Cancellation Policy applies to purchases made from Deerford Defense LLC.

By placing an order, you agree to this policy and to the Deerford Defense Terms and Conditions and Shipping, Delivery, FFL Transfer, and Legal Restrictions Policy.

Because many products sold by Deerford Defense are regulated, fulfillment-sensitive, special order, or supplied through third-party distributors, customers must review this policy before ordering.

1. Contact Us Before Returning Anything

All returns require prior written authorization from Deerford Defense.

Do not send an item to Deerford Defense, a distributor, a manufacturer, or another address unless we have provided written return instructions.

To request a return, contact Deerford Defense and provide:

  • Your full name
  • Order number
  • Product name
  • UPC or manufacturer model number, when available
  • Reason for the return
  • Photographs when the product is damaged, incorrect, or incomplete

A return is not approved until Deerford Defense provides written authorization.

Unauthorized returns may be refused, returned to the sender, delayed, or treated as abandoned to the extent permitted by law. The customer is responsible for costs resulting from an unauthorized return.

2. Return Request Window

Unless a product is identified as nonreturnable, return requests must be submitted within seven calendar days after carrier-confirmed delivery.

Submitting a request within seven days does not automatically make the product eligible for return.

After approval, the customer must ship the product according to our instructions and within the period specified in the authorization.

3. Twenty Percent Restocking Fee

All approved customer-requested returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

The restocking fee is calculated from the purchase price of the returned product.

The following may also be deducted from the refund:

  • Original shipping charges
  • Return shipping
  • Return-label costs
  • Shipping insurance
  • Carrier charges
  • Return-to-sender charges
  • Distributor or manufacturer fees
  • Transfer-related costs
  • Payment-processing costs where permitted by law
  • Missing-item or damaged-packaging deductions
  • Other nonrecoverable costs attributable to the return

Taxes will be refunded as required by law.

The 20% restocking fee does not apply when Deerford Defense confirms that it shipped a materially incorrect UPC or manufacturer model number, unless the customer transferred, used, installed, fired, altered, or damaged the product after discovering the error.

4. Return Condition Requirements

To qualify for a return, a product must generally be:

  • Unused
  • Unfired
  • Uninstalled
  • Unmounted
  • Unaltered
  • Unworn
  • Undamaged
  • In the same condition in which it was delivered
  • In its original packaging
  • Complete with all parts, accessories, manuals, tools, labels, and documentation

Opening packaging solely to reasonably inspect an otherwise returnable product does not automatically make it ineligible. However, damaged or missing packaging may reduce the refund when it affects resale value or results in a distributor charge.

We may deny a return or reduce the refund when a product shows evidence of:

  • Use
  • Firing
  • Installation
  • Mounting
  • Modification
  • Wear
  • Customer-caused damage
  • Missing components
  • Serial-number alteration
  • Improper storage
  • Packaging damage beyond reasonable inspection

5. Nonreturnable Products

Unless otherwise required by law, the following products are generally nonreturnable:

  • Firearms after transfer
  • Ammunition
  • NFA items
  • Used firearms or used merchandise
  • Fired products
  • Installed, mounted, fitted, or altered products
  • Special-order products
  • Personalized or customized products
  • Clearance products
  • Final-sale products
  • Gift cards
  • Products damaged after delivery
  • Products missing serial numbers or identifying labels
  • Products prohibited from return by law
  • Products that a distributor or manufacturer will not accept for return
  • Products identified as nonreturnable on the product page

The following red-dot optics are also nonreturnable unless Deerford Defense shipped a materially incorrect UPC or manufacturer model number:

  • Red-dot optics requiring email-for-quote pricing
  • Red-dot optics subject to special ITAR or manufacturer restrictions
  • Holosun red-dot optics
  • OSight red-dot optics
  • Leupold red-dot optics

A manufacturer warranty may still apply to a nonreturnable product.

6. Firearm Sales

Firearms are not returnable after transfer to the customer.

The customer must inspect the firearm at the receiving FFL before completing the transfer.

The customer should verify:

  • Manufacturer
  • Model
  • UPC or manufacturer part number
  • Caliber or gauge
  • Finish
  • Configuration
  • Barrel length
  • Visible condition
  • Obvious shipping damage
  • Major included accessories

If the firearm is visibly damaged, materially incorrect, or otherwise unacceptable:

  1. Do not complete the transfer.
  2. Do not take possession of the firearm.
  3. Leave the firearm with the receiving FFL.
  4. Contact Deerford Defense promptly.
  5. Provide photographs and other requested documentation.

Once the transfer is completed, the firearm is considered accepted and used for return purposes, even if it has not been fired.

A customer may not complete a transfer and then return the firearm because of:

  • Cosmetic condition visible during inspection
  • A wrong model or configuration visible during inspection
  • Buyer’s remorse
  • A change of mind
  • FFL fees
  • A lower price found elsewhere
  • A manufacturer running change that retains the ordered UPC
  • A characteristic that could reasonably have been identified before transfer

Manufacturing defects discovered after transfer must ordinarily be handled through the manufacturer’s warranty process.

7. Customer’s FFL Selection

Deerford Defense handles obtaining or validating FFL documentation when required. However, the customer is responsible for selecting the correct receiving FFL.

Before ordering, the customer must confirm that the selected dealer:

  • Accepts transfers from online retailers and third-party distributors.
  • Accepts the type of firearm ordered.
  • Will receive the shipment at the licensed address.
  • Is willing to transfer the firearm to the customer.
  • Has disclosed its fees and procedures.

The customer is responsible for transfer fees, background-check fees, storage fees, and other charges imposed by the receiving FFL.

If the firearm must be redirected, returned, or canceled because the customer selected the wrong FFL or because the selected FFL refuses or cannot accept the shipment, the customer is responsible for:

  • The 20% cancellation or restocking fee
  • Original shipping
  • Return shipping
  • Carrier charges
  • Distributor charges
  • Transfer-related charges
  • Any other resulting costs

8. Denied, Delayed, Refused, or Abandoned Transfers

Deerford Defense does not control background-check results, waiting periods, government systems, or receiving-FFL decisions.

If a transfer is denied, refused, abandoned, or otherwise cannot be completed for a reason not caused by Deerford Defense, the firearm remains subject to the 20% restocking or cancellation fee.

The refund will also be reduced by:

  • Original shipping
  • Return shipping
  • Distributor fees
  • FFL fees charged to Deerford Defense
  • Storage charges
  • Carrier charges
  • Other nonrecoverable costs

No refund will be issued until the firearm has been returned to and accepted by the appropriate authorized party.

9. Damaged Firearms

A firearm with visible shipping damage must not be transferred.

The customer must leave the firearm with the receiving FFL and contact Deerford Defense promptly with:

  • The order number
  • Photographs of the firearm
  • Photographs of the shipping container
  • Photographs of damaged packaging
  • A description of the damage
  • Any information supplied by the receiving FFL

Completing the transfer may prevent Deerford Defense from verifying whether damage occurred in transit and may make the firearm ineligible for return.

Damage discovered only after transfer will ordinarily be treated as a manufacturer-warranty matter unless Deerford Defense determines otherwise.

10. Damaged Non-Firearm Merchandise

Claims for merchandise that arrived visibly damaged must be submitted within seven calendar days after delivery.

The customer must retain:

  • The product
  • Original packaging
  • Shipping materials
  • Labels
  • Photographs of the damage
  • Photographs of the shipping container

Do not discard packaging or return the product until Deerford Defense provides instructions.

Depending on the circumstances, Deerford Defense may arrange:

  • Return
  • Replacement
  • Store credit
  • Refund
  • Carrier claim
  • Manufacturer-warranty assistance

11. Incorrect Products

If Deerford Defense ships a materially different UPC or manufacturer model number from the product ordered, contact us within seven calendar days.

The product must remain unused, unfired, uninstalled, unmounted, unaltered, and complete.

For firearms, the customer must identify the problem before transfer and refuse the transfer.

If Deerford Defense confirms that an incorrect product was shipped, we will provide an appropriate resolution and the customer will not be charged the 20% restocking fee for that return.

Representative images, generalized descriptions, packaging changes, or manufacturer running changes do not necessarily constitute an incorrect shipment when the ordered UPC or manufacturer model number was supplied.

12. Missing Items or Accessories

Claims involving missing components or accessories must be submitted within seven calendar days after delivery.

The customer must provide photographs of:

  • The product
  • All received components
  • The interior packaging
  • The exterior shipping container
  • Product and shipping labels

Manufacturer packaging and included accessories may change without notice. Deerford Defense will compare the claim against the applicable UPC, manufacturer information, distributor records, and shipment records.

13. Manufacturer Defects and Warranties

A manufacturing defect is different from shipping damage or shipment of an incorrect product.

Products that have been transferred, used, fired, installed, or mounted are generally handled through the manufacturer’s warranty.

The manufacturer determines:

  • Warranty eligibility
  • Repair or replacement
  • Warranty duration
  • Shipping responsibility
  • Turnaround time
  • Whether damage resulted from misuse or modification

Deerford Defense may provide manufacturer contact information or other reasonable assistance but does not control the manufacturer’s decision.

14. Customer-Requested Order Cancellations

All customer-requested cancellations are subject to a 20% cancellation fee.

The fee is calculated from the merchandise subtotal of the canceled product or order.

Cancellation requests are not valid until approved by Deerford Defense in writing.

Orders may enter processing or be transmitted to a distributor, manufacturer, or fulfillment partner shortly after being placed. We cannot guarantee that an order can be stopped.

If fulfillment or shipment has begun, the customer is also responsible for:

  • Original shipping
  • Return shipping
  • Return-to-sender fees
  • Carrier charges
  • Address-correction fees
  • Distributor or manufacturer fees
  • Transfer-related charges
  • Other nonrecoverable expenses

The 20% cancellation fee applies regardless of whether the customer requests cancellation before or after processing begins.

15. Customer-Caused Cancellations

The 20% cancellation fee and applicable costs also apply when an order is canceled because of:

  • Buyer’s remorse
  • Ordering the wrong item
  • Finding a lower price
  • Failure to read the product description
  • Failure to verify the UPC or manufacturer model number
  • Selecting the wrong FFL
  • FFL refusal
  • Customer ineligibility
  • A failed or denied transfer
  • Failure to provide requested identity or payment verification
  • Ordering an unlawful or restricted product
  • Providing an incorrect address
  • Refusing delivery
  • Failure to retrieve or accept the order
  • Failure to comply with the receiving FFL’s requirements

16. Deerford Defense Cancellations

The 20% cancellation fee will not be charged when Deerford Defense cancels an order solely because of:

  • Inventory unavailability
  • A Deerford Defense pricing error
  • A Deerford Defense listing error
  • Duplicate processing caused by Deerford Defense
  • Another operational error caused solely by Deerford Defense

In those situations, the canceled amount will be refunded.

This exception does not apply when the cancellation results from inaccurate customer information, customer ineligibility, legal restrictions applicable to the customer, an incorrect FFL selection, failed verification, payment problems, or another customer-caused issue.

17. Refused and Undeliverable Shipments

A package refused by the customer, refused by the selected FFL, returned as undeliverable, or returned because of an inaccurate address is treated as a customer-caused return or cancellation.

Any refund is subject to:

  • The 20% cancellation or restocking fee
  • Original shipping
  • Return shipping
  • Carrier charges
  • Return-to-sender fees
  • Address-correction fees
  • Distributor charges
  • Other costs incurred

No refund will be issued until the returned product is received and processed.

18. Return Shipping

The customer is responsible for return shipping unless Deerford Defense confirms that the return resulted from shipment of a materially incorrect product or another Deerford Defense error.

When we provide a return label for a customer-requested return, the label cost may be deducted from the refund.

The customer is responsible for properly packaging the return and following all shipping instructions.

The customer remains responsible for loss or damage to a return shipment until it is delivered to the authorized return location. We may require tracking, insurance, signature confirmation, or use of a particular carrier.

Firearms and other regulated products may only be returned according to our instructions and applicable law.

19. Refund Processing

Refunds are not issued until the returned product has been:

  • Delivered to the authorized return location
  • Received
  • Inspected
  • Matched to the return authorization
  • Approved for refund

Approved refunds are generally issued to the original payment method.

The refund may be reduced by all fees and costs authorized under this policy.

After Deerford Defense initiates a refund, the customer’s bank or payment provider controls when the credit appears.

Shipping charges, transfer fees paid directly to an FFL, and other third-party charges are not refundable by Deerford Defense.

20. Carrier-Confirmed Delivery

Deerford Defense covers qualifying shipment loss or damage while the shipment is in transit and before carrier-confirmed delivery.

Once the carrier marks the shipment as delivered to the provided address or selected receiving FFL, Deerford Defense’s responsibility for loss, theft, disappearance, or nonreceipt ends to the fullest extent permitted by law.

A delivered tracking status will be treated as proof of delivery for purposes of this policy.

Deerford Defense is not responsible for porch theft, packages removed by another person, packages misplaced after delivery, theft from an FFL or business, weather exposure after delivery, or failure of the recipient to secure or locate a delivered package.

This section does not eliminate a timely claim involving an incorrect product or visible firearm damage identified before transfer.

21. Chargebacks

Customers should contact Deerford Defense before initiating a chargeback.

We will contest improper chargebacks involving:

  • Valid orders
  • Carrier-confirmed delivery
  • Accepted firearm transfers
  • Disclosed 20% cancellation fees
  • Disclosed 20% restocking fees
  • Customer-caused FFL problems
  • Refused or undeliverable shipments
  • Products ineligible for return
  • Failure to follow the required return process

We may submit order records, tracking, delivery confirmation, policy acceptance, customer communications, FFL information, and other relevant evidence to the payment processor.

Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

22. Policy Changes

Deerford Defense may revise this policy at any time.

Changes become effective when posted. The policy in effect when the order was placed will generally govern that order unless a change is required by law.

23. Contact

Questions or requests under this policy should be submitted through the contact information published on the Deerford Defense website.
