This Trijicon VCOG 1-6×24 features a red segmented circle/crosshair reticle calibrated for .223 ammunition with a 55-grain bullet. Choose this pattern for its broken-circle outline and crosshair layout, rather than the horseshoe-and-dot design offered in another .223 / 55-grain configuration.
The first-focal-plane reticle changes apparent size with the image, preserving the scale of its markings across the 1-6x range. The scope uses 1/2-MOA click adjustments and provides four inches of eye relief. Its caliber-specific markings distinguish it from both the .223 / 77-grain version and the universal MOA models; matching the reticle designation matters when comparing these scopes.
A single AA battery powers the red LED illumination, with six selectable brightness settings. Trijicon rates continuous operation at 700 hours on setting 4 with a lithium AA battery. The scope also accepts an alkaline AA, but that runtime rating applies to the lithium battery. Illumination power comes from the battery, not fiber optics or tritium.
The forged 7075-T6 aluminum housing has a matte-black finish and a submersion rating of 20 m. Its integrated mounting interface uses the included TA51 adapter instead of conventional scope rings. The box also includes a lithium AA battery, LENSPEN, manual, warranty card, and Trijicon sticker.
