Trijicon IR-HUNTER Type 2 24mm Thermal Riflescope, 640×480, Black
The Trijicon IR-HUNTER Type 2 24 mm thermal riflescope combines a 640 x 480 VOx sensor with a 12-micron pixel pitch and an OLED display. This black HUNTER-24-2 model has a 24 mm f/1.2 objective lens and 1.2x optical magnification. Its 18-degree field of view distinguishes it from the narrower views of the 35 mm and 60 mm Type 2 models.
Digital zoom ranges from 1x to 8x, giving this model a combined magnification range of 1.2x to 9.6x. The optical magnification remains 1.2x; the higher settings enlarge the digital image. Selectable 30 Hz and 60 Hz frame rates and Black Hot, White Hot, and Edge Detect display modes provide several ways to view the thermal image.
Reticle options include a classic crosshair, MRAD and MOA crosshairs, and .223 REM, .308 WIN, and 300BLK BDC patterns. These are selectable electronic reticles within the optic, not separate fixed-reticle versions. Rotary controls provide access to the menus, while the eyepiece offers 27 mm of eye relief and a diopter adjustment range of -6 to +2.
The Type 2 design includes a top-loading battery compartment and a USB-C connection. Two CR123 batteries provide approximately four hours of operation according to Trijicon’s specification sheet. External USB power is also supported. Video output supports compatible external recorders through an appropriate adapter.
The included Mini Picatinny Rail Mount uses Trijicon Q-LOC technology. The optic weighs 28.4 oz. and is made in the USA. Trijicon specifies a submersion rating of 1 m for one hour, with an operating temperature range of -32 to 50 degrees Celsius.
