The flat dark earth Trijicon Dual Defense kit pairs a 3.25 MOA RMR Type 2 red dot sight with an M17/M18 mounting plate and non-tritium backup sights.

Flat Dark Earth with Plain Backup Sights

The FDE finish gives the RMR Type 2 an earth-tone appearance while retaining its single 3.25 MOA red dot and forged-aluminum housing. The optic is non-magnifying, with side-mounted controls for its LED illumination. The dedicated mounting plate and sight set complete the kit for a compatible commercial M17/M18.

The included iron sights have no tritium illumination. Their blacked-out appearance keeps the backup sight picture simple, and their optic-height profile allows them to be seen through the RMR window. Choose this configuration if you prefer plain backup sights without tritium illumination.

RMR Type 2 Controls and Battery

Automatic mode responds to ambient light, while eight manual brightness settings let you set the dot intensity yourself. Two settings are intended for night-vision equipment. Button Lock-Out helps prevent unintended control changes while the sight operates automatically.

The CR2032 battery powers the red dot independently of the iron sights. Trijicon specifies more than four years of continuous use at setting 4 of 8 under its test conditions. Battery replacement requires removing the optic because access is underneath. Higher brightness settings and temperature extremes can reduce battery life.

Choose the Correct M17/M18 Kit

RM06-C-700815 is the non-tritium FDE configuration. The RM06-C-700816 alternative adds tritium night sights while keeping the same dot size and housing color. Both versions use a CR2032 to power the RMR reticle.

The supplied plate is for the compatible commercial M17/M18 arrangement. Check your exact slide configuration rather than assuming that every P320 or military M17/M18 uses the same mounting interface. The kit includes the RMR, mounting plate, optic-height iron sights, battery, sealing plate, and mounting hardware. Professional installation is recommended.
