Why Choose an Enclosed Emitter?

On an open-emitter sight, the LED and the path to the viewing lens are exposed. The RCR encloses that space, helping keep lint, rain, and debris away from the emitter. You still need to keep its exterior glass clean, but the internal light path is protected by the housing rather than left open.
