The VC16-C-1600004 version of the Trijicon VCOG 1-6×24 pairs a red segmented circle/crosshair reticle with a .308 / 175-grain calibration. It is the circle-pattern alternative to the horseshoe-dot .308 model, with a matte-black housing and an included TA51 thumbscrew mount.
The reticle is in the first focal plane, keeping its markings proportional to the image across the full magnification range. Its 1/2-MOA click adjustments are separate from the cartridge-specific calibration of the reticle. Four inches of eye relief and an integral magnification fin are useful physical details when comparing this configuration with other variable-power scopes.
A single AA battery powers the red LED illumination, with six selectable brightness settings. Trijicon rates continuous operation at 700 hours on setting 4 with a lithium AA battery. The scope also accepts an alkaline AA, but that runtime rating applies to the lithium battery. Illumination power comes from the battery, not fiber optics or tritium.
The forged 7075-T6 aluminum housing has a matte-black finish and a submersion rating of 20 m. Its integrated mounting interface uses the included TA51 adapter instead of conventional scope rings. The box also includes a lithium AA battery, LENSPEN, manual, warranty card, and Trijicon sticker.
