The Ruger Security-9 uses Ruger's Secure Action fire-control system, pairing an internal hammer with a bladed-safety trigger for a short, smooth pull and positive reset.

The Security-9 has a through-hardened alloy steel slide and barrel, glass-filled nylon grip frame, front cocking serrations and takedown that does not require a trigger pull.
