The flat dark earth Trijicon Dual Defense kit pairs a 3.25 MOA RMR Type 2 red dot sight with an M17/M18 mounting plate and Bright & Tough tritium backup sights.

An FDE Optic with Tritium Backup

The RMR Type 2 combines a 3.25 MOA red dot with an adjustable LED and a forged-aluminum housing. Its Flat Dark Earth finish is a color choice, not a change to the reticle: the aiming dot is red. The non-magnifying view and compact body remain the same as the corresponding black kit.

This version includes Bright & Tough tritium sights with black outlines. Their lamps illuminate the iron-sight reference without using the RMR battery. The optic-height arrangement allows the irons to remain visible through the optic window, giving you a separate backup sighting system.

One Red Dot, Two Brightness Options

Let automatic mode adjust to ambient light, or choose from eight manual brightness settings. Two levels are compatible with night-vision equipment. Button Lock-Out protects automatic operation from accidental button presses, and the manual-mode conservation timer returns the optic to automatic brightness after roughly 16.5 hours of inactivity at the controls.

The red dot uses a bottom-loading CR2032. Trijicon rates continuous runtime at more than four years at setting 4 of 8 under its test conditions. Higher brightness settings can shorten battery life. Changing the battery requires removing the RMR from its mount. The tritium sights and LED reticle have separate power sources.

The Night-Sight Version of the FDE Kit

The RM06-C-700816 kit differs from RM06-C-700815 in its iron sights. Choose this model for tritium illumination, or the non-tritium version for plain backup irons. Both use a 3.25 MOA RMR Type 2 and an M17/M18-specific mounting plate.

This kit is designed for compatible commercial M17/M18 pistols. Check your slide and sight arrangement before ordering, particularly if your pistol has a military-contract or different P320 slide. The optic, plate, sight set, battery, sealing plate, and mounting hardware are included. Professional installation is recommended for a properly fitted setup.
