The Trijicon Compact ACOG TA44-C-400413 brings a red RTR .223 reticle to the fixed-power 1.5x16S format. RTR stands for Rapid Target Reticle; its horseshoe-and-dot layout adds ballistic reference marks to the sight picture, distinguishing it from the simpler ring-and-dot TA44 variants.

The reticle is calibrated for .223 55-grain ammunition, with an illuminated horseshoe and center dot. It should not be confused with the 9mm RTR version, even though both share the compact TA44 optical format. A 16 mm objective, 2.4-inch eye relief and 39-foot field of view at 100 yards provide modest magnification in a short optical body.

Fiber optics gather ambient light for reticle illumination, while tritium provides illumination in low light. Neither requires a battery or an electronic brightness control. The forged aluminum housing contains a nitrogen-filled optical system with multicoated lenses. The included Q-LOC mount fits a compatible Picatinny rail.
