The SIG ROMEO5 is SIG’s enclosed rifle red dot. The ROMEO5 is a 1×20 mm sight for a Picatinny rail, built to ride a carbine, PCC, or shotgun without turning into a pistol micro dot. Confirm the reticle, housing, and mount on the sight you receive. This is not a ROMEOZero pistol sight. Mounting hardware in the box is for a MIL-STD 1913 rail unless the product page says otherwise.

Shop by generation, reticle, finish, and included mount. Standard GEN II models use a 2 MOA red or green dot and a CR2032 battery. Elite models add the Quad Ballistic Circle Dot 2.0 reticle. ROMEO5X and ROMEO5XDR GEN II sights use a AAA battery and an integral hex mount. Magnifier packages pair a ROMEO5-family sight with a JULIET magnifier.

GEN II and the Original ROMEO5

The original ROMEO5 is a compact 1×20 mm 2 MOA red dot with 8 daylight plus 2 night-vision settings, a side-loading CR2032 battery, and both a low M1913 mount and a 1.41 in. co-witness riser in the usual kit.

ROMEO5 GEN II keeps the enclosed 1×20 mm tube and MOTAC CR2032 power, then changes the mount and controls. The I-BEAM Picatinny mount is the GEN II interface. Illumination moves to top-mounted ambidextrous buttons with 12 settings (10 daylight and 2 night-vision-compatible). A low M1913 mount is included only with select SKUs. Choose GEN II when you want the I-BEAM housing; do not assume every box contains both heights.

Red, Green, Elite, and FDE

The ROMEO5 GEN II 2 MOA red dot (SOR5101) is the black red-dot sight with the 1.41 in. I-BEAM. The green-dot GEN II (SOR5102) uses the same housing and mount with a green 2 MOA aiming point. Compact SKUs SOR5001 and SOR5002 follow the same GEN II red and green compact description.

The Flat Dark Earth GEN II (SOR5111) is the FDE-finished 2 MOA red-dot sight, not a 1 MOA Elite. Elite models use a 1 MOA center, a 65 MOA circle, and holdover dots. The Elite with 1.41 in. mount (SOR5105) is the absolute co-witness height. The Elite with 1.93 in. mount (SOR5193) is the tall I-BEAM package.

ROMEO5X, XDR, and Magnifier Combos

ROMEO5X GEN II sights replace the CR2032 I-BEAM layout with a AAA cell and an integral half-inch hex mount at 1.41 in. absolute co-witness. The ROMEO5X GEN II ROSE (SOR5X171) is a 2 MOA red dot with rose-gold accents. The ROMEO5XDR GEN II (SOR5X201) adds a user-selectable 65 MOA circle around the 2 MOA dot.

The ROMEO5XDR GEN II and JULIET5-MICRO combo includes the circle-dot sight and a separate 5×24 mm flip-to-side magnifier. How to Choose a ROMEO5

Start with reticle and mount. A single 2 MOA dot covers standard GEN II red, green, FDE, and ROMEO5X ROSE. Choose Elite for the ballistic circle-dot set, then pick 1.41 in. or 1.93 in. I-BEAM height. Choose XDR when you want a selectable 65 MOA circle on the AAA X-series housing.

Confirm the rail. These sights clamp to Picatinny. They do not mount to a pistol slide the way a ROMEO-X does. Included mounts are part of the exact model: I-BEAM, tall I-BEAM, or integral hex. A low mount is not guaranteed unless the kit says so.

Power systems split the family as well. Standard GEN II and Elite sights use a side-loading CR2032 cell with a 40,000-hour rating under standard use. ROMEO5X and ROMEO5XDR GEN II sights use a AAA cell with a 50,000-hour rating. Runtime varies with brightness and temperature. Night-vision settings are dim LED levels for compatible equipment; they do not turn the sight into a night-vision device.
